This seems a peaceful place. Is it?

Is this possibly your childhood home?

This is a part of a buddist temple in Sri Lanka in a sea side area which was destroyed by the recent tsunami. This temple was a santuary to people post tsunami.

Tiled angled roofs, coconut trees, dogs, and the serenity of buddist temples were essenses of my growing up in Sri Lanka.... always makes me smile... :-)

I love Sri Lanka, been there twice. What a nice people, always friendly. I once bought a bottle of Coke at a little shop next to the 'highway' near Colombo. There was this really nice old man who told me proud that he knew where Holland was and that he had friends there and showed me some antique photographs of windmills :-)

Dogs & cats & Buddist temples & smiling people in too small houses. The blackest tea I ever drunk & the freshest pineapple I ever ate. Yep, Sri Lanka makes me smile too ;-)

Thank you I have been to Holland many times and always found people very friendly too. It really takes one to know one... :-)
